Iron Man #517

Howard Stark … sitting in his office … drinking … watching his little boy play … by disassembling a revolver. Father of the Year material for sure.

Oh my heart. My boys. 

I am more concerned by what, five year old Tony’s line, “never seemed to work.”  WHICH MEANS HE WAS PLAYING WITH THE ASSEMBLED GUN more than once.  

I hate you, Howard.  SO MUCH.

I think we all rather dislike the elder Stark. This could have gone two ways. If Howard Stark had lived beyond his boy’s 17th birthday, Tony could have turned into something worse than Dr. Doom. As it is maybe we should thank Stane for at least faking affection for Tony & giving him purpose. 

Also,thank the writer that the gun never worked. If I had been his mom & found out about this Howard would not be able to sire anymore kids & I would have taken Tony & run.
